DUROMASTIC
DUROMASTIC
Duromastic: a versatile repair and resurfacing primer for courts, cracks and old bitumen
Rhinoluxe Duromastic is a fibre-reinforced binding mastic that repairs and resurfaces damaged exterior surfaces before a new coating goes down. It fills and binds cracks, re-binds tired sport-court surfaces, and keys over aged bitumen so the next layer holds. Built for South African sun and temperature swings, it gives a stable, long-term base on courts, driveways and patched masonry.
Key Benefits
- Versatile repair. One product for court resurfacing, crack repairs and coating over old bitumen.
- Fibre-reinforced. Embedded fibres add tensile strength and help bridge hairline cracks.
- Long-term strength. Cures to a hard, stable base that resists movement and re-cracking.
- Strong adhesion. Binds to sound bitumen, cement and previously coated surfaces.
- Exterior-rated. Formulated for outdoor exposure and South African weather.
Technical Overview
Duromastic works as a binding mastic. It penetrates and re-binds friable or cracked substrates, while the reinforcing fibres distribute stress across the repair. On sport courts it re-establishes a uniform surface for a colour topcoat; on aged bitumen it provides a keyed, stable base that stops the old layer telegraphing through. The result is a repaired surface that behaves as one piece rather than a patch.

Technical Guidance
Clean the surface of dust, oil and loose material before application. Open live cracks so the mastic can key into them, then work the product in to fill and bind. Allow the repair to cure before applying a colour topcoat such as Rhino Court. On old bitumen, confirm the existing layer is sound and well-adhered first.
