Technical Overview

Concrete Roof Tile Primer is a penetrating bonding primer. On a weathered tile the cement surface goes chalky and porous, so a topcoat has nothing solid to hold onto. This primer is absorbed into that surface and binds the loose particles into a consolidated, stable layer, then leaves a keyed film that a roof coating can bond to. It is essentially a bonding agent bodied up for the frail, powdery surface of old concrete tiles.

Technical Guidance

Clean the roof of moss, dust and loose material and let it dry before priming. Apply the primer so it penetrates and binds the chalky tile surface, and allow it to dry before applying the roof coating. On badly degraded tiles, a second application helps consolidate the surface.
