Rhinoluxe Glossy Wood Copal Varnish is a premium, high-build interior and exterior wood varnish. Crafted from natural copal resins, it forms a hard, glossy, water-resistant film on timber that protects against moisture, UV, and surface wear while bringing out the natural grain.

What it's for

Wood Copal Varnish is rated for: interior wood furniture, doors and frames, skirtings, bar tops and counters, exterior wood that requires a film-forming finish, and any timber surface where a glossy, deep finish is desired. Available in Clear plus three wood tints — Teak, Mahogany, and Dark Oak.

Substrates and application

  • Interior wood: Doors, frames, furniture, skirtings, bar tops, shelving
  • Exterior wood: Window frames, exterior doors, fascias, pergolas (apply over an appropriate primer)
  • Existing finishes: Sand back any flaking varnish or sealant before recoat

Wood Copal Varnish vs Premium Wood Oil

Choose Wood Copal Varnish when you want a hard, glossy, film-forming finish that protects against scratches, spills and surface wear — ideal for furniture and high-traffic interior wood. Choose Premium Wood Oil when you want a penetrating, natural-look finish that highlights the grain without a glossy film — ideal for outdoor decks, rough timber, and matte-look applications.

Tint options

Available in Clear (preserves the natural wood colour), Teak, Mahogany, and Dark Oak tints. Each tint adds depth and richness to the wood while still showing the underlying grain.
